Quick Start

Get started with GeoGPT in seconds. This guide will show you how to upload your first spatial dataset and start an AI-powered conversation.

1. Open the Application

Navigate to the GeoGPT App. You'll see the main chat interface and the interactive map viewer.

2. Upload your GIS Data

Click the Upload button (paperclip icon) in the chat input area. Select a supported file from your computer:

  • QGIS Projects (.qgz, .qgs)
  • GeoTIFF Rasters (.tif, .tiff)
  • Shapefiles (.shp, .zip)
  • GeoJSON / KML

3. Start Chatting

Once uploaded, the AI will provide a summary of your data. You can then ask questions directly or use the Tools menu to generate visualizations:

Interactive Map

As you chat, the map on the right will automatically update to show the spatial extent and layers of your data. You can toggle layer visibility in the sidebar.
